This antique wash round wicker log basket is a hessian lined willow basket with rope handles, available in three sizes or as a set of all three. The medium measures 40 cm across the top and 34 cm deep on a 35 cm base, and weighs 1.3 kg. It takes logs and kindling beside a stove or open fire, and works just as well for throws, cushions or towels.

The rope handles are stitched through the rim and worked into the weave, not tacked onto the outside. It is a small distinction until you lift a basket full of logs, at which point the load is carried by the whole basket rather than by two fixing points. The body tapers as well, narrower at the base than the top, so it sits tight to a hearth while still opening wide enough to drop logs in without aiming.
