Boat Shaped Rattan Log Basket with Cordura Lining
This boat shaped rattan log basket is a Cordura lined wicker log basket with handles built into both ends. The large measures 63 x 49 cm on a 50 x 38 cm base, rising to 34 cm at the ends and dipping to 25 cm through the centre, and weighs 2 kg. A small and a set of two are also available. It holds logs, firewood and kindling by a stove, and suits rolled throws or towels elsewhere.
High at the ends, low through the middle: the profile is where the name comes from and it solves two problems at once. Longer logs sit across the length without rolling out over the side, and the dipped centre lets you reach in without stretching over a tall rim. The Cordura lining is a heavy-duty synthetic, chosen because bark and splinters are hard on a soft lining.

How much floor space does it need?
The large is 63 x 49 cm across with a 50 x 38 cm base, so it needs width rather than depth. At 25 cm through the middle it will also slide under most console tables, which the taller log baskets will not.
What is the point of the shape?
Raised ends hold longer logs in place. A dipped centre means you are not lifting over a high edge every time you reach for one. It is built around how a log basket actually gets used rather than how it photographs.
