Keep your fireside organised with this Antique Wash Wicker Open End Basket with Hessian Lining. Designed with a low front and taller back, this traditional wicker log basket makes it easy to add and remove firewood without lifting logs over a high rim. Its rectangular shape provides practical storage beside a fireplace or wood-burning stove, while the open front keeps the contents visible and within easy reach.

Woven from willow with a warm antique wash finish, the basket features a hessian-lined interior to help contain loose bark and wood debris. A fixed arched handle makes it convenient to carry, while the combination of natural wicker and fabric lining brings a rustic touch to your living space. The versatile design is equally useful for storing magazines, newspapers and other everyday household items.

Why is the front of this log basket lower than the back?

The 12 cm front makes it easier to place logs into the basket and remove them without lifting them over a tall edge. The 32 cm back provides a taller side for arranging and storing the contents.

How much space does the basket need?

The basket has a footprint of approximately 42 × 32 cm. Its overall height, including the fixed handle, is 42 cm, so it's worth checking the available space beside your fireplace or beneath shelving.

Does the hessian lining help contain wood debris?

Yes. The hessian lining helps collect loose bark, wood chips and dust that may fall from stored logs, reducing the amount of debris passing through the wicker weave.

Can I use this basket for things other than logs?

Yes. The open-front design also works well for storing magazines, newspapers, folded textiles and other household items that you want to keep visible and easy to reach.

How should I care for the wicker and hessian lining?

Brush away loose debris regularly and gently wipe the wicker if needed. Allow the basket and lining to dry thoroughly if they become damp. Keep the basket a safe distance from open flames and hot stove surfaces.
