This antique wash hamper is a full willow hamper with a hinged lid, cream faux leather straps and metal chains, in six sizes from 12 to 22 inches. The 12 inch is 30 x 23 x 12 cm and the 22 inch 56 x 37 x 26 cm.

Choosing between six sizes of the same hamper comes down to what goes in each. The 12 and 14 inch are gift and display sizes; the 16 and 18 inch take linen, toys or a filled hamper; the 20 and 22 inch hold bedding and bulk. None is more than 26 cm deep, so all six sit on a shelf or in the bottom of a wardrobe.

Which size should I choose?

Work from the contents rather than the label. The 12 and 14 inch suit a gift or a bedside table. The 16 and 18 inch are the general-purpose sizes and the ones most people buy. The 20 and 22 inch take bedding, towels or a season's worth of anything.

Can I get every lining colour in every size?

No, and that is worth checking before ordering. Black, Red, White, Navy Blue, Grey Sage and Green all appear somewhere in the range, but which are available depends on the size. The options shown are the ones we currently hold in stock.

How is this different from your 14 inch empty wicker hamper basket?

Same 36 x 26 x 15 cm at the 14 inch size, but the fittings differ. This one has cream faux leather and metal chains and weighs 700 g; that one has grey faux leather with integral handles and weighs 600 g.

Can I use one as a picnic basket?

Yes, though these are empty hampers rather than fitted ones, so nothing is included. If you want plates and cutlery already in place, our fitted hampers carry settings for two, four or six.
