These rectangular grey rattan storage baskets come in three sizes, or as a set of all three, hand-woven from kubu rattan with handles cut into the side weave. The small is 32 x 23 x 18 cm and 500 g, the medium 41 x 29 x 21 cm and 800 g, the large 47 x 35 x 24 cm and 1.05 kg. They suit under bed storage, open shelving and wardrobe tidying.

Rattan comes from the stem of a climbing palm and is woven whole, without splitting. Cordura, the optional lining, is a woven nylon that lifts out and wipes clean with a damp cloth. Nothing protrudes from the sides, so two baskets sit flush on a shelf.

Will the grey colour fade over time?

Kubu grey lightens with sunlight, as any unsealed natural fibre does. That is the material ageing normally, not a fault, and keeping a basket out of a south-facing window slows it down.

Will they fit a standard cube shelving unit?

The small, at 32 x 23 cm, goes into most 33 cm cube openings with room to spare. The medium and large are too wide for a cube and are meant for open shelves, wardrobes or the floor.

Can the Cordura liner go in the washing machine?

We would not put it through a machine. Cordura is a woven nylon and a damp cloth takes marks off it, so lift the liner out and wipe it down.

How is this different from the Grey Rattan Square Storage Basket?

Same kubu rattan, different proportions. This range is long and shallow for shelves and under beds. The square one is a single 33 x 33 x 30 cm box, deep enough to stand boots upright in a hallway.
