This oval log basket is narrow for its length, which is what makes it work on a shallow hearth. It is woven in full antique wash willow with a hessian lining, and a rope handle runs through the weave at each end rather than being fixed on. A medium, a large, or both as a set of two.

Both hold logs by a stove, kindling at a grate, or laundry on a landing. The medium suits a tight hearth; the large is wider and deeper, for filling once and drawing on.

How far will the medium stand out from a wall?

Thirty centimetres at its widest, and less where the oval curves in. The large takes 38 cm.

Are the rope handles woven in or attached afterwards?

They run through the weave at each end and are finished off against the rim, so there is no separate fitting to work loose.

What height do the handles add?

The ropes run through the weave at each end rather than arching over the top. Email us and we will measure a basket before you order.

Is this the same basket as the Rectangular Rope Handled Storage Basket?

No. The large sizes share the same 58 x 38 x 38 cm dimensions, but this one has curved ends and the rectangular version has square corners that sit flush to a wall.
