Depth is what this one is for. Grey twisted paper is woven over a metal wire frame, with handle holes worked into both short ends, and the sides come up roughly twice as high as a standard storage tray. Two sizes, small and large.

That extra height means folders, bottles and cable reels stay on end instead of lying over one another. The frame keeps the sides square whether the tray is full or empty, and the handle holes let you lift it by the ends. Keep it dry, and dust or vacuum it on a low setting.

How deep is it compared with a normal tray?

Roughly double. A shallow storage tray is usually 8 to 10 cm; these are 18 cm and 20 cm, so things stand up in them rather than lying flat. That is the reason to choose one.

Do the sides slope?

Yes, slightly. The small is 34 x 27 cm at the rim and 27 x 19 cm at the base, so two of the same size will sit inside each other when you are not using them.

Can it get wet?

No. Paper rope should be kept dry, so wipe spills off rather than washing it, and keep it away from bathroom splash. Dusting or a vacuum on a low setting is all the cleaning it needs.

Will it take any weight?

The shape is held by a metal frame rather than by the weave, so it stays square when loaded. It is still a paper basket though, so it suits tidy storage rather than carrying heavy loads about.
