Antique Wash Wicker Cutlery Basket
This antique wash wicker cutlery basket is a sectioned willow caddy with a fixed handle over the top, in two layouts. The 4 section is square at 18 x 18 x 10 cm and weighs 300 g; the 6 section is rectangular at 25 x 18 x 10 cm and weighs 200 g. Both stand 22 cm to the top of the handle and carry cutlery, condiments or utensils to a table.
The sections are the point. Loose cutlery in a basket ends up as a jumble you have to sort at the table, whereas divided compartments keep knives, forks and spoons where you put them, and the handle means the whole lot travels in one trip. Useful for a dining table or a garden bench, and equally at home holding pens, brushes or craft tools on a desk.

Which layout should I choose?
The 4 section is square and compact, suiting knives, forks, spoons and napkins for everyday use. The 6 section is longer at 25 cm and splits the same cutlery further, or leaves room for condiments and serving spoons alongside.
Will full-size cutlery fit?
The sections are 10 cm deep, so standard cutlery stands with the handles proud and easy to pick out. Long serving utensils will lean rather than stand upright.
Can it be washed?
No, not immersed. Willow should not be soaked. Shake out crumbs, brush the sections with a dry brush and wipe marks with a barely damp cloth, then let it dry fully.
Is it only for cutlery?
No. The same divided shape works for pens and scissors on a desk, brushes and pencils in a craft room, or sauces and cruets on a kitchen worktop.
