This planter is woven willow in an antique wash finish, shaped as a tea cup on a saucer, with a handle at one side. The saucer is attached rather than loose, which gives the whole thing a base wider than its body. A plastic lining sits inside, between soil and willow.

Because the saucer is broad and fixed, it stands steadily on a sill, a table or a step. Drop a potted plant in and lift the pot out to water it. It is light to move around, and the cup shape makes it an obvious planted gift.

FAQs

What size pot will fit?

The cup is 24 cm across at the top and 12 cm deep, so measure the pot rather than the plant. The 28 cm figure is the saucer, which sits underneath and is wider than the opening.

Can I plant straight into it?

It is lined with plastic, which keeps soil off the willow, but there is no drainage. Most people drop a potted plant in rather than planting directly, so water can run out of the pot and be tipped away.

Can it go outside?

In summer, yes, and it is a common use. Bring it in over winter: willow left in the wet for months will soften, and the antique wash will weather.

Is the saucer removable?

No. The plate is attached to the cup, which is what gives it a base wider than its body.
