Round in section rather than flat sided, this green tweed barrel hamper is woven from light steamed willow and strapped with tan real leather. A handle runs across the top and the lid hinges in two halves either side of it, so one half opens with the basket still in hand.

Fitted for two, it carries porcelain plates, wine glasses, stainless steel cutlery and a bottle opener, plus a holder that keeps a bottle upright and a cooler bag that lifts out to be chilled separately. The base is flat, so it stands rather than rolls.

Why a barrel shape?

It carries differently. A round section sits against the leg rather than flat against it, and the double lid means you open one half at a time with the handle still in your hand. It is also the reason this hamper looks like nothing else in the range.

Is the leather real?

Yes, tan real leather rather than faux, which is what most of our picnic hampers use. It will mark and soften with use.

Does the cooler bag come out?

Yes. It is 25 x 16 x 16 cm and removable, so it can be chilled in the fridge and dropped in on the day.

Will it stand up on its own?

Yes. It is a barrel in section but it is built with a flat base to stand on, so it does not roll.
