Green Tweed Double Lidded Wicker Hamper
This green tweed double lidded hamper is a light steamed willow picnic basket with two hinged lids, tan faux leather straps and a tartan lining. The two person measures 40 x 29 cm, rises from 22 to 28 cm, stands 39 cm to the handle and weighs 2.3 kg; the four person is 48 x 33 x 28 cm at 4.6 kg.
Both lids hinge at the centre and open on their own, so the half you are not using stays shut. The two person carries porcelain plates, wine glasses, cutlery and a bottle opener, over a zipped chilled compartment in the base. Which size should I choose?
The two person at 40 x 29 cm and 2.3 kg is light enough to carry a good distance. The four person is 48 x 33 cm and 4.6 kg, which is a car boot hamper. Both are the same depth at the centre.
What cutlery comes with it?
Knives, forks and spoons with wood effect handles, strapped into the lid rather than loose. The plates are 7 inch porcelain and the glasses are proper wine glasses, not acrylic.
Does the chilled compartment come out?
It sits in the base of the hamper and zips shut. Load it, close it, and use the space above for whatever does not need to stay cold.
Is the tartan only on the lining?
It runs through the lid lining, the napkins on the four person and the chilled compartment, so the green shows whenever the hamper is open. The willow itself is plain light steamed.
