This oval 4 person green tweed hamper is a fitted wicker picnic basket in full light steamed willow. It measures 46 x 35 x 30 cm, stands 45 cm to the top of the fixed handle, weighs 4.2 kg packed, and arrives set for four covers.

Green tweed lines the interior and tan faux leather buckles hold the two swing lids shut on metal fittings. Our supplier records six items inside: four 7 inch porcelain plates, four wine glasses, four sets of stainless steel knives, forks and spoons, a wine opener, a salt and pepper shaker and a removable cooler bag. The cooler lifts out, so the basket can travel with the fittings left at home.

The process of basket weaving with willow is naturally sustainable due to the relatively quick growth of the plant fibres. The artisans use traditional weaving methods and techniques to create highly decorative, but durable, pieces.

Is the cooler bag fixed inside?

No. The cooler bag lifts out, and our supplier lists it as a removable item rather than a sewn in compartment.

What does the 4.2 kg figure include?

It is the weight our supplier records for the hamper as supplied, with the crockery, glassware, cutlery and cooler bag in place. We have not published a figure for the empty basket. Email us and we will weigh one before you order.

Is the cutlery stainless steel?

Yes. Four sets of knives, forks and spoons are listed as stainless steel on our supplier sheet.

Will a wine bottle stand upright in it?

The body is 30 cm deep and a 75 cl bottle is close to that, so it is tight once the lids are closed. We have not measured the clear internal height under the lid fittings, so email us and we will check a hamper for you.
