This gingham two person fitted hamper is a split white wash willow picnic basket with a gingham lining and faux leather handle and buckles. It measures 42 x 28 x 20 cm and weighs 1.8 kg packed. Inside are two porcelain plates, two acrylic glasses, two sets of cutlery, two napkins, a wine opener and a zipped chilled compartment.

At 1.8 kg this is the lightest fitted hamper we make. It is woven in split willow, where the rods are cut lengthways before weaving to give a finer weave than the full rods used on the larger hampers. The glasses are acrylic rather than glass, so nothing in it breaks on a beach. Red and white or blue and white.

What is split willow?

Rods cut lengthways before they are woven, rather than used whole. It gives a flatter, finer weave and a lighter basket, which is why this one comes in at 1.8 kg with the service inside.

Are the glasses breakable?

No, they are acrylic. That is worth knowing if the hamper is heading to a beach, a festival or anywhere with children about.

Red or blue?

The willow, the fittings and the contents are the same in both. The gingham lining and the faux leather trim change colour together, so it is a straight choice on looks.

Does it come with a blanket?
