Classic Fitted Wicker Picnic Hamper
The classic fitted wicker picnic hamper is a light steamed willow case with a hinged lid, a buckle closure and straps that hold the service in place. The six person measures 51 x 36 x 26 cm and weighs 5.3 kg packed, and carries six porcelain plates, six acrylic glasses, six sets of stainless steel cutlery, a wine opener and a 140 x 145 cm cream polyester blanket.
Fitted is the word doing the work. Everything straps into the lid and sides rather than sitting loose in the base, so nothing shifts on the walk out. The trade is that it holds what it was cut for and little else, so the food travels in a separate bag.

FAQs
Is there room for food as well as the service?
Not much. The plates, glasses and cutlery are strapped to the lid and sides, which leaves the base free, but on the six person that base is 51 x 36 cm with the strapping taking some of the depth. Most people carry the food in a cool bag alongside.
Are the straps real leather?
They are tan faux leather. The willow itself is full light steamed, so the colour is in the wood rather than a stain.
How heavy is it to carry when packed?
The six person is 5.3 kg with the service in and nothing else, which is a two handed carry over any distance. The two person is 2 kg and the four person 4.3 kg.
Can the crockery be replaced if something breaks?
The plates are 7 inch porcelain and the glasses acrylic, both standard sizes, so they can be replaced from a general supplier. We do not sell the components separately.
