How does the chilled compartment work?

It is a zipped insulated section inside the hamper rather than a bag that lifts out. Cold things go in cold and it slows them warming up.

How heavy is it packed?

5.9 kg empty, which is before food, drink or ice. This is a hamper for a car boot and a short carry rather than a walk.
