This red paper rope tray comes in three sizes, 34 x 21 x 10 cm, 39 x 26 x 12 cm and 44 x 31 x 14 cm, weighing 400 g, 600 g and 700 g, or 1.7 kg as a set of three. Twisted paper cord is woven over a metal frame, and the trays take toys, wool and general living room storage.

Red is the only strong colour in our tray range, which otherwise runs through straw, grey and brown, and the dyed paper cord carries it evenly across the whole tray. Each size is built on a metal frame, which is why these weigh roughly twice what the split willow trays of the same footprint do.

Does the red rub off on hands or fabric?

We have had no reports of it, but we have not run a rub test either. If you are putting the tray on a pale carpet or against light upholstery, give it a wipe with a dry cloth first and check.

How does paper rope hold up against willow?

It is softer under the hand and will not splinter, which suits a child's room. It is also the one material here that must stay dry, since a wetted paper cord does not recover its stiffness.

Which size for a shelf under a coffee table?

Measure the clear height first. The medium needs 10 cm, the large 12 cm and the extra large 14 cm, plus enough to lift the tray out over the lip.

Is the set of three the same three sizes sold singly?

Yes. The set is the medium, large and extra large together, at 1.7 kg for all three.
