This pair of autumn double steamed willow trays comes with a removable 100% cotton lining in each. The small measures 22 x 16 x 12 cm and the large 28.5 x 20 x 14 cm, and the two together weigh 400 g. They work as bathroom storage trays for cotton wool, soaps or hair ties.

Steaming colours willow right through the rod, and autumn is the warmest of the three finishes we put on this tray. Each of the two linings lifts out on its own.

The process of basket weaving with willow is naturally sustainable due to the relatively quick growth of the plant fibres. The artisans use traditional weaving methods and techniques to create highly decorative, but durable, pieces.

FAQs

Are the linings machine washable?

Our supplier records them as 100% cotton and removable, and says nothing about washing. We would hand wash cool and dry flat until we have that confirmed, and we are asking.

Do the two trays sit inside one another?

The small is 6.5 cm shorter and 4 cm narrower, so the body drops into the large. With both linings in we would not promise it closes down flat, and we will measure a set if it matters.

What makes the autumn finish different from white wash?

Autumn comes from double steaming, which colours the rod through to a warm red-brown. White wash is applied to the surface and leaves the willow pale with the weave showing through.

Can I buy just the large one?

Not at the moment. These trays are sold as a pair. If you only want one size, tell us which and we will see whether our supplier will break a set.
