Nothing goes into this small round dish but the weave itself: light steamed willow, open topped, with no lining, no frame and no fixings, which is what keeps it so light.

This is a bowl for the things that otherwise sit loose on a surface: keys and coins by a front door, rings and earrings on a dressing table, paper clips on a desk. The sides are deep enough that nothing rolls back out. Keep it to dry contents, as the willow is unsealed and takes up whatever is spilled in it.

Is 12 cm big enough for a set of car keys?

A car key and fob sit in easily, with room for a second set alongside. It is 6 cm deep, so nothing rolls back out.

Can it hold nuts or sweets?

Not loose. The willow is unsealed, so use a paper case or a small dish inside it if it is going on a table.

Does it sit flat on a table?

It has a woven base rather than feet. A hand-woven base can rock very slightly on a hard surface, which settles once there is something in the bowl.

What does light steamed mean?

The willow are steamed before weaving, which softens them for working and takes the colour to a warm mid-brown. It is a lighter treatment than the double steaming we use elsewhere in the range.
