Unpeeled and double steamed willow with the bark left on, which is why no two of these trugs come out the same shade. The sides dip low through the middle and rise at either end, the traditional trug line. Sold as a small, a large, or a set of both.
That dip is for long stems, which lie over the low point without folding while the raised ends keep everything else in. Cut flowers, vegetables carried in from the plot and kindling are the usual loads. The large handles a fuller picking; the small works in one hand.

FAQs
Why are the sides lower in the middle than at the ends?
So long stems lie over the low point without snapping while the higher ends still hold things in. It is the traditional trug profile, and both sizes have it.
Is it all right to leave out on the plot?
For an afternoon of cutting, yes. Willow is unsealed and will weather if it lives outside, so bring it into a shed or a porch when you have finished.
How much does the set of two save?
The pair is £50 against £66 bought separately, so £16.
What is the best way to get soil off?
Let it dry first, then turn the trug over and brush it out with a stiff dry brush. Do not soak it or put it under a tap.
