These wooden garden markers come as a set of five pinewood labels, each 2 cm wide, 3 mm thick and 24 cm long, weighing 100 g for the five. They push into seed trays, pots and beds to record what is planted where.

Our supplier records pinewood and nothing else: no varnish, no paint, no preservative. We have not published how long a marker lasts outdoors, because that depends on the soil and the weather where you are. Email us first and we will check with our supplier.

How many come in a pack?

Five, and our supplier lists them that way rather than singly. All five share the same 2 x 0.3 x 24 cm dimensions.

Are they treated for the weather?

Our supplier records pinewood with no finish of any kind, so treat them as bare timber. If they are going into a wet bed for a full season, a coat of exterior varnish before planting is worth the ten minutes.

How tall do they stand once pushed in?

That depends how deep you push. The full marker is 24 cm, so a third in the ground leaves about 16 cm of label showing above a seed tray or a bed.

What do I write on them with?

Our supplier does not specify. The pine is bare and takes pencil, and a garden pen holds better through rain. Email us and we will tell you what has worked on the ones we have used.
