This oval shopper is woven from full unpeeled willow, double steamed with the bark left on, so the mottled brown is the willow itself and not a stain. A fixed handle arcs over the top. Two sizes, singly or as a set of both, unlined or with a removable lining in white cotton or one of several cotton and polyester patterns.

The large is the one for a shop or a market run; the small is sized for a child to carry. Bark is never one colour, so no two baskets match, and every lining pulls out to wash.

How is this different from the Deluxe Oval Wicker Shopper?

Two things. This one is unpeeled, so the bark is still on the willow and the surface is rougher and browner; the Deluxe is smooth. And the Deluxe is bigger at both sizes, 48 x 43 cm against 42 x 30 cm at the large.

Is the small a child's basket?

We size it as one, and at 29 x 22 x 15 cm that is about right. It holds a few items rather than a shop. If you want one adult-sized basket, take the large.

Does the lining come out?

Yes. The Garden Rose and White cotton linings are removable and washable, and add 50 to 100 g to the weight depending on size.

Will the colour vary from the photographs?

Some. Unpeeled willow keeps its natural bark colour, which runs from light tan to dark brown across a single basket and between baskets. That variation is the finish, not a fault.
