How much floor does it actually need?
The large runs 46 cm along each wall and curves across the front, so it occupies the corner triangle rather than a square footprint. Measure 46 cm out from the corner along both walls and check nothing, such as a radiator pipe or skirting, interrupts that run. The small needs 33 cm.
Will it hold as much as a square hamper?
At 60 cm tall it holds a good deal, though a square hamper of the same width will always hold more. You are trading some capacity for a basket that does not stick out into the room.
Does the lining come out for washing?
Yes, the cotton lining is removable. On a laundry basket that matters more than anywhere else in the range.
