The finish on this bottle box is an oak effect, a colour and grain applied to the wood rather than oak itself, darker and more even than bare timber. Metal hinges carry the lid and a clasp holds it closed. A single bottle size and a two bottle size are made.

Both are the same length and depth, so the two bottle version is simply the wider of them, and bottles travel on their side with the lid clasped. Handing one over does the job of wrapping, and it holds pens, cables or tools afterwards.

Is it solid oak?

No. It is an oak effect finish on wood rather than oak itself, which is what keeps it at this price. If you want the grain of the wood showing through instead, our clear varnish box is the same shell.

Which size holds what?

One, two or three bottles lying side by side. The length and depth never change, so the box gets wider rather than taller as you go up, and it will still slide onto a shelf at 10.5 cm deep.

Will my bottle fit?

A standard 750 ml wine bottle will. Spirits vary more in shape, and at 11 cm wide per bottle and 10.5 cm deep a squat or square bottle may not, so measure yours first.

What else is it good for?

It lasts well beyond the bottle. Stationery, tools, cables, photographs and keepsakes are all common second lives for one of these.
