This oval wash basket is a wicker laundry basket woven from full antique wash finish willow, with a removable cotton lining and handles worked into the rim. It measures 64 x 51 x 29 cm, rises to 34 cm at the handles and weighs 1.3 kg empty, for carrying wet washing out to the line or folded clothes from room to room.

Sides stop at 29 cm, shallower than the 56 cm of our Slim Laundry Hamper Basket. Both linings are cotton and polyester blends, and both lift out for washing.

What separates the white version from the garden rose?

Only the fabric. Both sit in the same 64 x 51 x 29 cm basket, one plain white, the other a printed garden rose. The willow, the handles and the 1.3 kg weight are identical.

Is it deep enough to carry a full load of wet washing?

We have not published a capacity figure for this basket, because wet washing packs very differently from dry. The rim measures 64 x 51 cm over a 47 x 36 cm base, 29 cm deep. Email us and we will load one and tell you what went in.

Where exactly are the handles?

At each end of the rim, formed in the weave and not added on. Measured to the top of them the basket stands 34 cm, which is 5 cm above the 29 cm sides.

Will it go in a bathroom?

The willow is unsealed, so keep it off a wet floor and away from standing water. A dry bathroom or a landing is fine, and so is a utility room. It is an indoor basket.
