This antique wash open star is a willow star woven from split willow on a metal frame, hung from jute string on a metal ring. It measures 45 x 45 cm and 5 cm deep, and weighs 400 g. It hangs on a door, a wall or a window.

This is the larger of our two willow stars: 45 x 45 cm against 40 x 40 for the full star, and 400 g against 300 g. Split willow is what keeps the weight down, which matters on a door that gets opened and shut. At 5 cm deep it sits close enough to the door for a letterbox and a knocker to clear it.
