This small open trough is oak effect wood with a rigid plastic liner dropped inside, and heart shapes cut through the front and back panels as hand holds. One size, and the oak effect is a finish rather than solid oak.

The liner keeps damp compost off bare timber, so a plant can be watered without the wood taking it up. The timber carries no sealant or preservative, so it belongs indoors or under cover. It holds a herb pot, cut stems or tealights on a sill or a worktop.

FAQs

Is the liner watertight?

It is a plastic lining, and we would not fill it with standing water. Plant into a pot and drop the pot in, or line the plastic with a saucer.

What size pot will 22.5 x 14 cm take?

The internal opening is a little under those outside figures. A single 12 cm pot sits in comfortably, and two small herb pots will go in side by side along the length. Send us the pot diameter and we will check.

How does it compare with the vintage planter?

Both are wooden planters with a plastic lining. This one carries an oak effect finish; our Vintage Planter With Plastic Lining carries a vintage one, and the two are listed separately.

Has the wood been treated at all?

It is oak effect wood with a plastic lining, and there is no varnish, oil or preservative on it. We treat it as bare timber and keep it out of the rain.
