This dog feeding station is a wooden block holding two removable stainless steel bowls, each 16.5 cm across and 6 cm deep. The housing measures 44 x 19 x 8.5 cm and the whole thing weighs 700 g. The bowls lift straight out to be washed and the wood wipes down.

The point of a station rather than two loose bowls is that nothing slides. A 44 cm block with the bowls set into it absorbs the pushing a dog does while eating, and keeps food and water side by side rather than migrating across the floor. At 8.5 cm high it is low, so it suits small and medium dogs; a large breed eats with its head well down.

What size dog is it for?

Small to medium. The bowls sit 8.5 cm off the floor, which is a comfortable height for a spaniel or a terrier. A tall breed such as a labrador or a retriever will be reaching down for it, and those dogs are usually better on a raised stand.

How much does each bowl hold?

Each is 16.5 cm across and 6 cm deep. That is a standard mid-size dog bowl: a full meal for a small or medium dog, or water for the day.

Can the bowls go in the dishwasher?

They are stainless steel and lift out, so yes. Wipe the wooden housing rather than soaking it, and let it dry before the bowls go back in.

Will it slide on a hard floor?

Less than loose bowls will, because the weight of the block and the bowls together is spread across 44 cm. On polished tile a mat underneath still helps.
