Hollow through the middle, this star is five points of split antique wash willow woven onto a metal frame that keeps them true. It hangs from jute string on a metal ring at the top point.

Because the middle is empty, whatever sits behind it shows through, which is why it works in a window or against a painted wall. Hang it on a hook, a nail or a wreath hanger. A covered doorway is fine for an evening, but rain softens willow and the frame will mark it, so it belongs indoors for the season.

Size and weight. This one is 45 x 45 cm at 400 g; the full star is 40 x 40 cm at 300 g. Both are split willow on a metal frame with the same jute hanger.

Which size suits a front door?

Either, but measure the door first. At 45 cm across, this one takes up most of the width of a standard panel, which is the look some people want and others do not.

Can it go on an outside door?

Under a porch or a covered doorway, yes. In the open, rain will soften the willow over a season and the metal frame will mark it, so bring it in when the weather turns.
