This green tweed cooler basket is a full light steamed willow carrier with a zipped chilled compartment in green tweed. It measures 40 x 20.5 x 33 cm, stands 44 cm to the top of the swing handle and weighs 900 g empty. At 33 cm tall it takes a standard wine bottle upright.

It is the same basket as our Wicker Cooler Basket, in green tweed rather than cream, so pick on looks because everything else is identical. Insulation slows warming rather than refrigerating: chill the contents beforehand and add a freezer block if the day is a long one. The compartment sits inside the basket rather than being dropped in loose, so it does not shift about.

Is the willow waterproof?

No. Willow is not waterproof and should not be left standing in rain or on wet ground. The chilled compartment is a sealed liner, so condensation from a cold bottle stays inside it rather than soaking the basketwork.

How long will it hold temperature?

Hours rather than a day, and it depends on the weather. It insulates rather than chills, so cool everything before it goes in and use a freezer block if you are out past lunch.

Will a wine bottle stand up in it?

Yes. The basket is 33 cm tall and a standard bottle is around 30 cm, so it stands upright with the swing handle clear above it.

How does it compare with the Deluxe Wicker Butcher's Basket?

That one is wider and shallower at 35 x 30 x 23 cm, so it suits things laid flat. This is the narrow, tall one for bottles.
