This double steamed wicker trunk is a lidded willow chest in two sizes, with rope handles at each end and double real leather straps to a buckle. The 24 inch measures 62 x 40 x 29 cm and weighs 2.9 kg unlined; the 28 inch is 72 x 50 x 34 cm at 3.75 kg. Both come unlined or with a removable White, Navy Blue, Grey Sage or Black lining.

The straps are real leather rather than the faux trim most of the range carries, and the handles are rope rather than woven willow. That is the sensible pairing at this size, since a 72 cm trunk is a two-handed lift. At 29 and 34 cm deep they hold bedding and seasonal clothes.

Which size should I choose?

The 24 inch at 62 x 40 x 29 cm takes a single duvet or a season's clothes. The 28 inch at 72 x 50 x 34 cm is close to double the volume and works at the end of a bed or in a loft. Measure the space before you decide: 72 cm is longer than most people picture.

Are the straps really leather?

Yes. These carry double real leather straps, not the faux trim used on most of the range. That is part of what puts them at the top of our storage line.

Will the rope handles take the weight when it is loaded?

They are fixed through the weave at both ends and are there to be used. A 28 inch trunk full of bedding is still a two-person lift by bulk rather than by weight, so take an end each.

Does the lining come out?

Yes. The White, Navy Blue, Grey Sage and Black linings are removable and washable, and add between 300 and 500 g depending on size.
