This round rattan planter is woven from rattan and lined in black plastic, in two sizes. The small is 29 cm across the rim, 25 cm at the base and 25 cm tall, at 700 g; the medium is 36 x 30 cm at 1.5 kg. Both take a potted plant as an indoor planter basket.

Each rim sits 4 cm wider than its base, so both sizes draw in towards the floor. We hold no manufacturer record for this planter. The black lining is not confirmed by them, and it carries no drainage hole.

Is it waterproof?

No, we would not call it waterproof. A plastic lining will hold what runs out of a pot for a while; that is not the same as a waterproof basket, and the rattan around it is unsealed.

Which size takes a standard plant pot?

The medium is 32 cm across the base, so a pot up to roughly 30 cm wide drops in. The small takes one nearer 23 cm. Those are approximate, worked back from the base measurements, so measure your pot first.

Is this the same as your Tapered Rattan Round Planter?

No. The tapered one is 39 cm or 45 cm across the rim with a much narrower base, and its supplier record confirms kubu grey rattan. This range sits smaller and we hold no record for it.

Will rattan cope with a conservatory?

Rattan swells, then dries stiff and lighter in colour, and a damp basket left standing will mildew. Bring it in from a conservatory sill in winter and keep it off wet paving.
