This flat antique wash star is woven in split willow over a metal frame, measuring 30 x 30 cm and 8 cm deep, and weighing 70 g. It hangs from a jute string on a metal ring, so it goes straight onto a hook, a door or a branch with no fixings needed.

Flat is the useful part. At 8 cm front to back it sits close against a wall or a door rather than standing proud of it, and at 70 g the jute string will hang it from a picture hook or a length of ribbon. The metal frame underneath is what holds the five points square through a season in the loft and back out again.
