This seagrass round waste paper basket measures 28 cm across and 28 cm tall, weighs 600 g and is woven over a green metal frame with a hand hold worked into each side of the rim. It takes office and study waste paper, and doubles as a bedroom bin or open storage for magazines.

Height and diameter are the same figure here, so the basket is an upright cylinder: as tall as it is wide, where our seagrass trays are wide and shallow. Two hand holds sit opposite each other in the rim, so it lifts level rather than tipping when it is carried out to empty.

Will a bin liner fit inside?

A standard 4 to 5 litre pedal bin liner sits in it, though the top of the bag will show over the rim. We have not published a litre capacity because the weave is not a sealed shape; email us if you need one measured.

Is it suitable for kitchen or food waste?

No. Seagrass is unsealed and will absorb anything wet or greasy. Keep it to paper, packaging and dry waste, or use it for storage instead.

What holds the round shape?

A metal frame inside the weave. It is the same construction as our seagrass trays, drawn tall instead of flat.

Does the base have feet?

The base is woven seagrass with no feet or studs. On a polished floor, sit it on a felt pad or a rug if it is going to be moved about often.
