This square grey rattan storage basket measures 33 x 33 x 30 cm, weighs 1 kg and is hand-woven in Indonesia from kubu grey rattan with a handle worked into each side. It is unlined, in one size, and the sides run straight from base to rim. It was made for entrance halls and takes boots, shoes, scarves or a dog's kit.

At 33 x 33 cm square and 30 cm deep, it stands ankle boots upright instead of laying them flat. Kubu rattan is a solid palm stem, so the rods are thicker than willow and the weave shows a coarser grain. Nothing lines it, which means wet soles can be wiped out rather than soaking into fabric.

Is it deep enough for boots?

At 30 cm deep it holds ankle boots and trainers upright. Knee-high boots will fold over the rim, and we have not published a pairs-per-basket figure because sizes differ so much. Tell us the shoe sizes and we will measure a basket for you.

Is this the same rattan as the Rectangular Grey Rattan Storage Baskets?

Yes, the same kubu grey rattan from the same supplier in Indonesia. The difference is proportion: those are long and shallow for shelves, this is a deep square box for the floor.

Does it come with a liner?

No. It is sold unlined only, and the inside face shows the rattan weave.

Can it live in a porch?

An unheated porch that stays dry is fine. Rattan here is unsealed, so keep it away from rain, splashback from an open door and anything that leaves it damp overnight.
