This white wash wicker full star is woven from split willow across a metal frame, so the whole face is filled in. It measures 40 x 5 x 40 cm, weighs 300 g and carries a jute string and metal ring at the top point, ready as a hanging star decoration for a wall or a landing.

Filling the face takes more willow than an outline does, and it still comes in 100 g under our larger White Wash Wicker Open Star, which is 5 cm bigger each way. White wash leaves the rods pale with the grain visible under it.

Is it painted or washed?

It is a wash, not paint. Our supplier records split white wash willow for this code, which is a wash into the rods rather than a coat of paint over them.

Is the back of the star finished too?

Our supplier does not say, and we would rather check than guess. Email us and we will turn one over and photograph the reverse.

How does it compare with the Hanging White Wicker Angel?

The angel is 27 x 3 x 23 cm in white painted willow. This is 40 x 5 x 40 cm in white wash, so it is a larger piece in a softer, greyer white.

Can it stand on a mantelpiece instead of hanging?

It will lean against a wall on a mantel, though nothing is built into it to hold it upright. The string means it is designed to hang.
