This chipwood tray is a shallow antique wash tray made from willow and chipwood, in two sizes. The small is 32 x 22 x 6 cm at 150 g; the medium is 37 x 27 x 8 cm on a 32 x 22 cm base at 300 g. It holds trinkets, keys, post and craft materials.

Chipwood is thin sheet wood rather than woven rod, and these trays pair it with an interwoven willow rim. The medium's base is 32 x 22 cm, the same as the small tray's full footprint, so the two sit one inside the other. At 6 and 8 cm deep neither is much more than a rim.

Do the two sizes nest?

They do. The medium's base measures 32 x 22 cm, which is exactly the small tray's footprint, so the small drops into the medium when neither is in use.

Which size should I choose?

The small at 32 x 22 cm is a hall table or bedside tray. The medium at 37 x 27 cm takes more and is the one for a kitchen worktop or a desk. Both are shallow enough to see everything at once.

How should I look after it?

Dust or wipe it. Keep it dry and out of direct heat, which is what dries out both the willow rim and the chipwood base over time.
