A round party basket in full buff willow, built over a wooden frame with a real leather handle, and supplied with twelve champagne flutes.

Buff willow takes its pale honey colour from being boiled with the bark still on and stripped afterwards, which draws the tannin into the willow instead of laying colour over it. The flutes ride in the ring around the rim, leaving the middle open for bottles and ice. It is a basket to carry out to a lawn, a terrace or a wedding reception and leave standing on a table.

FAQs

How many glasses come with it?

Twelve, and they are part of the price rather than an add-on. They stand in the ring around the rim, which is where the basket gets its diameter from.

Which of your two garden party baskets is bigger?

The light steamed one, by a clear margin: 47 cm across and 21 cm deep against 42 x 18 cm here, and 3.2 kg against 3.1 kg. This buff version is the more compact of the pair.

What else will it take besides the glasses?

The middle is left open and we have not published a bottle count, because it depends entirely on bottle shape and how they are stood. Tell us what you want to carry and we will load one here and tell you what fits.

Will it stand up to a summer of use outdoors?

For the evening, yes. It is not a basket to leave on a lawn overnight: the willow is unsealed, so dew and rain soak into the willow. Bring it in, let it dry and it will come out year after year.
