This round straight-sided wicker tray is a buff willow tray in three sizes: small at 25 cm across and 10 cm deep at 200 g, large at 30 x 12 cm at 300 g, and extra large at 35 x 14 cm at 400 g. It suits keys, stationery and trinkets on a desk, or fruit and bread on a table.
Ten to fourteen centimetres is deep for something called a tray, and that is what makes these useful. A flat tray lets things slide off the edge the moment it is picked up and moved; these hold their contents in, so the extra large works as a fruit bowl or a bread basket on a kitchen table and the small does the job of a catch-all by a front door without scattering keys across the hall every time the door slams. The sides go straight down rather than flaring, so the rim is the same width as the base, and the three sizes sit one inside another when they are not all in use.

FAQs
Which size should I choose?
Five centimetres separate each size across and two in depth. The small at 25 cm is a desk or hall tray. The large at 30 cm is the general-purpose one. The extra large at 35 cm is big enough to be the centre of a kitchen table with fruit in it.
Is it really a tray?
It is deeper than most, at 10 to 14 cm, which puts it somewhere between a tray and a shallow basket. If you want something genuinely flat to lay things out on, our shallow wicker trays are 5 to 8 cm deep.
Can I put bread or fruit in it?
Yes. Bread and whole fruit go straight in, and a cloth in the base is worth adding for anything loose or that might mark. It is unlined willow, so it does not go near water.
Do the three sizes nest?
They do, which is the reason to buy more than one. Out on a table they work as a graded set; put away, they take up the space of the largest alone.
