This wicker display basket is a light steamed willow basket with a sloped front, 25 cm high at the back and 15 cm at the front, in two widths. The small measures 25 cm wide and the large 50 cm wide, both 38.5 cm from front to back, at 600 g and 1.1 kg. It is made for displaying bread, produce, wool, blankets or packaged goods.
The slope is the entire point of it. A basket with sides of an even height hides its contents behind the front wall, so a customer standing at a counter sees a rim and a shadow. Dropping the front to 15 cm tips everything forward and puts the front row in plain view, while the back stays at 25 cm so the basket still holds a decent depth of stock and nothing tumbles out. Both sizes share the same 38.5 cm depth and the same front and back heights, and the large is exactly twice the width of the small, so a run of them along a counter lines up level and fills the space without gaps.

FAQs
Which size should I choose?
Measure the counter rather than the stock. The large at 50 cm wide is a single line of display on its own; the small at 25 cm is for a narrower run or for breaking a counter into separate lines of product. Because the large is exactly double the small, the two combine to fill an awkward width.
Will the two sizes sit together?
Yes. They share the same 38.5 cm depth and the same 25 cm back and 15 cm front, so a mixed run stays level along the top edge rather than stepping up and down.
Can I put food straight in it?
Bread and anything wrapped goes straight in. For loose, greasy or damp produce, line it with a cloth or paper first, since there is no lining fitted and willow does not go through a dishwasher.
Is it only for shops?
No. The same slope works on a kitchen counter for bread and fruit, or on a shelf for wool, magazines or folded tea towels. It simply makes whatever is in it easier to see.
