Three shallow shelf baskets, sold singly or as a set of all three, woven from white wash summer willow with a removable white cotton lining in each. Summer willow is cut younger and finer than the willow used for log baskets, which keeps these light to handle.

Being low and open, they are built for shelves, worktops and open cupboards: toiletries, cables, spices, tea towels, folded clothes or craft supplies. The white wash lets the grain show, so they stay pale against dark shelving. Each lining lifts out to wash, which helps where a basket picks up dust.

Will they fit a standard shelf?

Yes. At 18 to 32 cm front to back they suit shelving from 20 cm deep upwards, and at 14 to 16 cm tall they clear most shelf spacings. Measure the gap above the shelf as well as its depth.

Does the lining come out?

It does, and it washes. That is worth having on a bathroom or kitchen shelf where a basket picks up dust and the odd spill.

Which size for what?

The small at 30 x 18 cm takes toiletries, cables or spices. The medium suits tea towels, socks or craft supplies. The large at 43 x 32 cm holds folded clothes, towels or a run of files. The set of three covers a whole unit and keeps everything matching.

How do they differ from the plain white version?

Same sizes, different finish. This one is white washed, which lets more of the willow grain show through. Our plain white basket is painted, for a more solid, opaque colour.
