These come as a set of three and not individually: small rectangles, each woven onto a green metal frame and left unlined, so the weave shows inside as well as out. All three are longer than they are wide, and all three are shallow.

That long, low shape lines up along the back of a desk or inside a drawer better than a square would. Stationery and post, bedside odds and ends, sewing kit and loose kitchen sachets are what they tend to hold. Seagrass is a dried marine plant, twisted into cord before it is woven.

Are these the same as your larger seagrass rectangular trays?

No. This set runs 14 cm to 22 cm long. The Seagrass Rectangular Tray range runs 32 cm to 44 cm and is sold in four sizes, individually or as a set of four.

Can I buy one size on its own?

Not at the moment. These are sold as a set of three only. Email us if you want a single size and we will tell you what we can do.

Is there a lined version?

A lined set of the same three trays exists, but we do not currently stock it here. The square seagrass set is available lined if a cotton base matters to you.

Where does seagrass come from?

A marine plant, harvested, dried and twisted into a cord before weaving. It is firmer and smoother under the hand than willow, and it carries a green tint when new that softens towards straw as it ages.
