This luxury blue tweed picnic blanket measures 120 x 142 cm and weighs 800 g, with a 100% polyester fleece face and a waterproof PVC backing. It folds into its own carrying case with a handle, and works as a picnic rug, a beach mat or a spare layer kept in the car.

Both this and our Lavender Tartan Picnic Rug run 142 cm along the long side and weigh 800 g; this one is 120 cm across against 117 cm, on identical fleece and PVC make-up. The waterproof layer is the PVC backing and not the fleece, so the fleece face is the one to sit on. It packs down into the carrying case the handle is part of.

Is the waterproofing part of the fleece?

No. The fleece is 100% polyester and takes water like any fleece. The waterproof part is the PVC layer bonded to the back.

Will it fit in one of your hampers?

Folded it goes into the larger fitted hampers. Our Rope Handled 6 Person Hamper is supplied with a blanket of this construction already packed inside.

Is it warm enough to sit on in autumn?

It is a single fleece layer over PVC, not a padded blanket, so it stops the damp rather than the cold. Take a second layer if the ground is cold.

Which of your two blankets is larger?

This one, marginally. Both are 142 cm on the long side; this measures 120 cm across and the Lavender Tartan Picnic Rug measures 117 cm.
