A square body meets a wall or a corner along its full width where a round one leaves a gap behind it, and that is the reason to choose this shape. The lining is sealed, so keep a plant in its own pot and stand that inside. Without a plant it holds throws, cushions, or shoes and toys by a door.

FAQs

Can compost go straight into it?

The plastic lining will hold soil, but there is no drainage hole, so water has nowhere to go. We would keep the plant in its own pot and stand that inside, which lets you water normally and lift the pot out to drain.

Square or round?

Square if it is going into a corner or against a wall, because the full width meets the surface. Our Grey Rattan Round Planter is the same material in a circle, and suits an open floor or the middle of a room.

Why is the rattan grey?

Rattan that is soaked before weaving, which is where the soft grey colour comes from. It is a different plant from willow and gives a smoother, more uniform surface.

Can these live outside?

No. Rattan is unsealed and will weather, darken and eventually soften if it is left out in rain. These are indoor planters, or covered porch and conservatory planters at most.
