Unpeeled Wicker Garden Trug in 2 Sizes
The Unpeeled Garden Trug is a long, shallow wicker garden basket in full unpeeled willow, in two sizes: 44 x 27 x 9 cm and 51 x 34 x 12 cm. They weigh 400 g and 500 g, stand 25 cm and 28 cm to the handle, and carry cut flowers, vegetables or hand tools.
Nothing lines either size, so soil, stems and leaf litter drop straight onto the willow and shake back out. The bark is left on the rods, which makes every trug a slightly different mix of light and dark. The larger gains 7 cm in length and 3 cm in depth over the smaller.

Why is there no lining in these?
Because they are meant to take soil. An unlined trug can be knocked out over a bed and brushed down, where a lined one holds damp earth in the cloth. Our oval and rectangular trugs are hessian lined if you would rather have the layer.
How does this compare with your double-steamed trug?
This one is unpeeled, at 44 and 51 cm long. The Wicker Garden Trug is double-steamed willow and runs longer, 56 and 61 cm, and a little deeper on the bigger size at 13 cm against 12 cm.
Which size takes long-stemmed flowers?
The large, at 51 cm along the base. Dahlias, sweet peas and long roses lie flat in it without their stems folding against an end. The 44 cm medium suits shorter cuts and herbs.
What finish is the willow exactly?
