Can it go in the washing machine?

We would keep it out of the machine. The PVC back wipes down with a damp cloth, which is all it normally needs, and it should dry fully before it folds away.

Which side goes on the ground?

The PVC side. That is the waterproof layer, and the polyester fleece side is the one to sit on.

How is it different from the Luxury Blue Tweed Picnic Blanket?

How big is it folded?
