High at the ends and dipping through the middle, this rattan log basket is shaped like a boat, which is where the name comes from. It is kubu grey rattan with a green Cordura lining and handles built into both ends. A small, a large and a set of the two are made.

Longer logs sit across the length without rolling out over the side, and the low centre means reaching in without stretching over a tall rim. The large is the one for a hearth; it takes rolled throws or magazines elsewhere.

How much floor space does it need?

The large is 63 x 49 cm across with a 50 x 38 cm base, so it needs width rather than depth. At 25 cm through the middle it will also slide under most console tables, which the taller log baskets will not.

What is the point of the shape?

Raised ends hold longer logs in place. A dipped centre means you are not lifting over a high edge every time you reach for one. It is built around how a log basket actually gets used rather than how it photographs.

What is Cordura?

A heavy-duty synthetic fabric, the kind used for rucksacks and workwear. We use it on the rattan log baskets because bark, splinters and grit are hard on a softer lining.
