Woven in a grey tweed design, this rectangular picnic blanket has a 100% polyester fleece face and a waterproof PVC backing. The carrying case is stitched into the blanket itself, with a handle on top.

Fleece side up to sit on, PVC side down to meet wet grass. There is enough weight in it to stay put on a breezy hillside rather than lifting at the corners, which suits a picnic, a beach or a campsite. Shake it out, wipe the back down and let it dry flat before folding, rather than hot washing it.

Grey or green?

Same construction, same case, near enough the same size. The grey is 1 kg and the green 600 g, so the grey has more to it. Colour usually decides, and the grey matches our Grey Tweed Fitted Wicker Picnic Hamper.

What is the backing made of?

PVC, sealed to the fleece rather than sold as a separate layer. It stops damp coming up through the blanket and it is the surface you wipe.

Can I put it in the machine?

We would not. The PVC back does not take kindly to a hot wash. Shake it out, wipe the back down and let it dry flat before it folds away.

Does it come with a bag?

The blanket folds into its own case with a handle, so there is no separate bag to keep track of.
