This tree stands up by itself: the metal frame runs the full height of it and the split willow is wound on around that in a taper. White wash soaks into the willow and leaves the grain and the darker hollows showing, so it goes paler without being covered over.

A sideboard, a hall table, a window ledge or a shop counter all take it, and it is light to carry about. Keep it clear of a naked flame and do not wind a light string through the weave, because the willow is dry and unsealed.
