What is kubu rattan, and why is it used for log baskets?

Kubu rattan is a natural cane material recognised for its grey colouring and textured woven appearance. Its construction makes it suitable for creating large storage baskets, while the neutral tones work well alongside fireplaces, wooden furniture and natural flooring.

What is the benefit of choosing the Cordura lining?

The lining creates a fabric barrier between firewood and the rattan weave, helping to contain bark, splinters and smaller loose particles. This can make the area surrounding the basket easier to maintain, particularly when logs are frequently added or removed.

Can the basket be used for anything other than firewood?

Yes. Its deep, open interior can also accommodate rolled blankets, throws and other dry household textiles. The grey rattan finish allows it to function as a decorative storage basket away from the fireplace.

How should I clean and maintain the rattan?

Remove loose debris using a soft brush or vacuum attachment, taking care around the weave. Minor marks can be wiped with a lightly dampened cloth, followed by thorough drying. Avoid leaving natural rattan in persistently damp conditions.
