Pale, round and lidded, this white wash willow hamper has a lift-off lid with a handle on top and side handles set in the weave. The lining comes out to wash, in classic white, garden rose or grey sage. Sizes are a small, a large or a set of two.

The large takes a family's washing between loads, and bedding or towels go in it just as readily. The lid detaches rather than hinging, so it needs somewhere to rest while the basket is open.

Which size should I choose?

Thirteen centimetres separate them across and ten in height, which is a bigger jump than it sounds. The small at 33 cm suits one or two people or a bathroom with little floor to spare. The large at 46 cm and 60 cm tall is the household basket. The set of two lets lights and darks be separated at source.

Is the white painted or washed?

Washed. The colour sits in the weave and the willow shows through it, which keeps the texture visible. If you want a solid opaque white instead, our white painted hampers do that.

Does the lid hinge?

No, it lifts off completely and has its own handle on top. That makes it simple to take off one-handed, but it does need somewhere to rest while the basket is open, which is worth thinking about in a small bathroom.

Does the lining come out?

Yes, it lifts out and machine washes. Put it back only once it is completely dry.
